Sri Lanka thrilled about Pak-WI series shift possibility

KARACHI: Pakistan and the West Indies are scheduled to play a full series in October this year in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) however the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also considering Sri Lanka as the venue for the Pak-WI series.

Meanwhile this venue-shifting possibility, which is still remote, has been received very cordially in Sri Lanka as the Honaray Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Mohan De Silva said they are looking forward to discussing the matter with the PCB. “No official word has been received in this regard as yet however, we would be happy to discuss the venture with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). It’s an exciting proposal and we are looking forward to materialising it”, Mohan De Silva told the ‘scoreline.org’ from Colombo.

The honorary secretary also disclosed that the idea of Pakistan-WI series, in Sri Lanka, in fact came up during the recently SLC meeting as well. “The SLC president did share this possibility during the recent internal SLC meeting however it was not at length. Of course the Pakistan Cricket Board has to initiate this officially first”, De Silva concluded
