Chairman of Cricket Council USA and top administrator Mahammad Qureshi has led the way in terms of assisting financially with the scholarship fund to send promising cricketers from the United States to the University of the West Indies UWI to study and play cricket.
With the ballroom at the Hilton JFK packed with West Indians, the Pakistani stood head and shoulders above the rest when it came to contributing to the fund.
He received a standing ovation when he declared his assistance to the fund.
Speaking after he said :”We live in a global cricket scene and not because I am not from the West Indies, I wouldn’t help. I love cricket and I love people, so I love to help people through cricket.
“I am glad to be of assistance in helping you people and I was motivated to assist after seeing the tremendous work done by the executive of the US Cricket Hall of Fame.”
