PCB ponders ceremony to honour Misbah, Younis, Afridi

Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to hold a ceremony to recognise the services of the recently retired former captains, Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi next month.

 

Talking to this correspondent, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi confirmed that the proposal was being deliberated to fittingly honour the recently retired trio.

 

“They [Misbah, Younis & Afridi] served Pakistan for years and deserve appreciation. The PCB will honour them during a special award ceremony in September”, Najam Sethi said.

 

Sethi added that the schedule and other related details, of the ceremony, will be shared soon.

Younis Khan retired as the most Test-run getter from Pakistan while Misbah-ul-Haq recently hung his boots as Pakistan’s most successful Test captain.

 

Shahid Afridi retired after playing for 20 years and regarded as one of the most cheered cricketers in country’s history.
