Customs academy U15 outfit clinch Rajiv Gandhi tournament

KARACHI: In Chennai India, the Under-15 team of Karachi’s Customs cricket academy [CCA] has written history by beating the Tamil Nadu by 42 runs, in the final, to clinch the Rajiv Gandhi U-15 cricket tournament.

After winning the coin-toss, the CCA batted first and accumulated 129 runs in 20 overs. Saim Ayub topped with 56 while Badar Qureshi scored 18 runs. Tamil Nadu, in reply, bundled out for just 87 runs. Shayam Sunder scored 38 runs. CCA’s Badar Qureshi got Two wickets for just eight runs in three overs. Zohaib Masood Khan took 2 wickets in his 4 overs.

Badar Qureshi was declared man of the final match.

The Rajiv Gandhi Cricket tournament was played at the Marina Beach Ground in Chennai in which 12 teams took part including 10 Indian state outfits and one each from Pakistan and Bahrain.

This is also interesting to mention here that like the Misbah-leg Pakistan national side, these junior players also celebrated the title with collective press-ups.
