KARACHI: After acquiring multiple jobs – Head coach, chief selector – with the Pakistan Cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq is likely to continue in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as well, however, the former captain looks certain to part ways with his incumbent franchise, Peshawar Zalmi.
Talking to this correspondent, the chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi has confirmed that Misbah’s contract with the franchise had lapsed however negotiating a fresh deal, with the 75-Test veteran, is a possibility.
“Our one year contract with Misbah has come to an end however we will mutually decide about the future course of action”, Javed Afridi said.
The chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board Wasim Khan has said that Misbah would be allowed to coach a team in the Pakistan Super League, emphasizing that the move would give him more exposure.
As per media reports, Misbah-ul-Haq is inclined towards a coaching role with Islamabad United in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League.
