Karachi: The hearing into the appeal, filed by former cricket captain Salim Malik, has been adjourned after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a formal response to it on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed retired Justice Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan as the independent adjudicator for hearing former Test captain Salim Malik’s appeal in the case concerning the April 2000 conversation transcripts provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“We have filed a reply to his (Malik’s) appeal which is now fixed for arguments on October 12th as Salim Malik’s lawyers asked for time to prepare”, A PCB counsel told this correspondent.

“It was a short hearing as Salim Malik’s lawyers want to see the PCB reply which also includes ICC transcripts”, the counsel Tafazzul Rizvi added.

The former stylish right handed batsman earlier responded to the allegation twice, but the PCB did not accept his viewpoint and later appointed a former Lahore High Court judge to settle the issue.
