Hafeez to leave for England tomorrow

Karachi: The troubled Pakistan all-rounder, Mohammad Hafeez will embark on a trip to England tomorrow for the assessment of his bowling action under relevant experts.

During his four-day stay in England, the 37-year old all-rounder will work with Carl Crowe, who has helped Sunil Narine rectify his action, and biomechanical expert Dr Paul Hurrian.

Pakistan’s bowling coach, Azhar Mahmood will also accompanying Hafeez.

Muhammad Hafeez was suspended, from bowling, after he failed to clear the test at an ICC accredited laboratory. The bowling action of the Pakistan all-rounder was reported as illegal during the recent ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

“After the assessment both experts will devise a remedial action plan that would be handed over to Azhar Mahmood for implementation in Pakistan,” a statement from the PCB earlier said.

Subsequently, Muhammad Hafeez will continue the remedial work in Lahore under PCB’s panel of experts, in view of the guidelines given by Paul and Carl.
