Karachi: Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez has decided to skip the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) to work on the betterment of his bowling action.
Mohammad Hafeez was to represent the BPL team, Comilla Victorians for this season.
“I have decided not to go to Bangladesh to participate in the BPL. I will play here (Pakistan) and work on my bowling action”, Hafeez told this correspondent.
Earlier the International Cricket Council announced that an independent assessment found the bowling action of Mohammad Hafeez to be illegal.
“In accordance with Article 11.1 of the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations, Hafeez’s international suspension will also be recognized and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction.
However, pursuant to Article 11.5 of the Regulations and with the consent of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Hafeez may be able to bowl in domestic cricket events played under the auspices of the PCB”, the ICC statement further said
In an immediate reaction, on his twitter account, Mohammad Hafeez expressed grieve over the result of his bowling action test however vowed to work even harder to return as a bowler soon.
“Saddened to know the result of my bowling action Test from the ICC. It would never pull me down, I will never give up. Worked so hard to remodel it & will work doubly hard to get better to serve my beloved country, Pakistan”, Hafeez remarked.
