Karachi: Even after the expiry of ICC’s one-year embargo, Pakistan all-rounder, Muhammad Hafeez is not yet ready to undergo the bio-mechanical test on his bowling action. In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the final decision on Muhammad Hafeez’s test on his bowling action in the ICC-accredited facility at Loughborough shall be taken in the next few days. “Since his recovery from the injury in the right knee that he sustained during the ICC World T20, Hafeez has recommenced remedial work on his bowling action”, the statement said
“But owing to the time lost due to injury as well as his concentrating on batting practice, Hafeez has not been able to devote adequate time to the remedial work”, the statement added
Hafeez has recently resumed bowling the nets and, as per the PCB statement, he is confident that in the next few days he would be able to present himself for the test.
Meanwhile Pakistan team’s manager Intikhab Alam said as soon as Hafeez intimates his willingness to undergo the test, the PCB will seek an appointment for him from the Loughborough lab.
The ICC’s one year ban on Hafeez’s eligibility to undergo the bowling action test expired on July 17.
Hafeez was banned from bowling in international cricket for 12 months after his action was found to be illegal for a second time since November 2014.
