Karachi: A renowned cricket administrator in the USA and the adviser to Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi, Dr Kashif Ansari has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani to get rid of the old faces in the PCB for the betterment of cricket affairs in Pakistan.
“People like Subhan Ahmed, Haroon Rashid, Zakir Khan and Shafiq Papa have been operating in the PCB for years. Chairmen come and go but these individuals stay in one position or the other”, Dr. Ansari opined.
“If Mani wants to bring real change then he has to take unprecedented steps otherwise he will also be remembered as his predecessors”, Dr Ansari added.
Dr. Kashif Ansari, an internal medicine specialist in Baytown, TX with over 26 years of experience, minced no word in elaborating the way forward for the new PCB chairman, citing examples of world’s top corporate structures.
“The first step a new chief executive takes is keenly analyse the utility of employees, followed by downsizing”, Dr. Ansari said.
Dr. Ansari further said there is a standard procedure, of showing door to such workers, followed by top corporate structures in USA and UK like Microsoft, Apple, Acer etc.
“The list of the unwanted employees is handed over to security which escort them to the exit gate after acquiring all the relevant documents, gadgets etc”, Dr Ansari said.
“This is how an institution is safeguarded. Now it’s up to Ehsan Mani to decide”, Dr Ansari concluded.
In the end, Dr Ansari hoped that Ehsan Mani would not compromise on promise like his immediate predecessor.
