Karachi: The Twenty20 International series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, tentatively scheduled in the last week of this month, is still hanging in balance as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants their Bangladesh counterparts to sanction Test series in Pakistan as well.
A PCB official told this correspondent that after Bangladesh’s reluctance to the longest format series in Pakistan even the T20I series between the two countries is not certain.
“The PCB is firm on the initial stance of an entire series, including Test matches, in Pakistan.
A number of options are on the table with Bangladesh”, the official said.
This correspondent understands that a solitary Test match and the T20I series is amongst options being deliberated upon between two sides.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which has announced to tour Pakistan for T20I, is of the opinion that they were looking at the PCB.
“PCB is yet to give decision on T20i series. They are still insisting on full series (consisting Test and T20I games)”, the BCB spokesperson, Mohammed Jalal Yunus told this correspondent.
