Karachi: Encircled with doping controversy Test cricketer Ahmed Shahzad is close to break a deal with a prominent first-class department, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to represent the outfit at the domestic circuit.
A source, privy to the development, said that the team management of the SSGC and Ahmed Shahzad will finalise the agreement in few days.
“Shahzad could feature in the super-8 stage of the ongoing first-class tournament, Quaid-e-Azam trophy after the culmination of his ban”, the source said
“Ahmed wants to play for SSGC because he likes the environment of the outfit. He (Ahmed) is keen to put controversies behind him”, the source added
The Pakistan Cricket Board suspended Ahmed Shahzad for four months, effective from 10th July 2018, on violating the Board’s Anti-Doping Rules.
If things go according to the plan then Ahmed Shahzad looks all set to represent the SSGC team during the super-8 stage of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, starting from November 7th.
