Dubai: At a noteworthy landmark of history, Pakistan and the West Indies have locked horns in the first test match of the series here. Two outstanding attributes are attached to the ongoing encounter. It is the first day and night Test match in Asia and also the 400th Test match for Pakistan. Reacting to these aspects, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that featuring in a significant game for the country is no less than a great honour. “It’s always good to be part of these sorts of landmarks. It’s a big achievement for Pakistan and an honour for us as well that we are part of this 400th test match”, Misbah said
“But the main thing is now to perform well and get the desired result”, Misbah stressed
Pakistan are the seventh team in the world to have played 400 or more Test matches. Earlier England, Australia, West Indies, India, New Zealand and South Africa have achieved this feat.
Another significant factor, in the game, is that it is being played under lights and with pink ball. Pakistan captain is seemingly undisturbed with the innovation and vowed to stick to the basics. “The best way to go about this is to just focus on cricket and forget that it’s a day and night match with a pink ball”, Misbah opined
“Just see the ball and play accordingly”, Misbah concluded
