Karachi: The opening day of the final of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which finished the first day on 285-7 courtesy the 132-run partnership for the fourth-wicket between Kamran Ghulam and Adil Amin.
At the National stadium, KP decided to bat against Central Punjab however lost three batsmen with 95 on the scoreboard – Fakhar Zaman (17), Israrullah (61) and Rehan Afridi (3). The season’s top run scorer, Kamran Ghulam and Adil Amin stood firm, on the occasion, and gradually pulled KP back on track with a century stand.
Kamran perished after amassing 76 while Adil Amin was knocked out by Hasan Ali on 75. The KP captain, Khalid Usman (3) and Sajid Khan (6) were also dismissed before the close of play.
Zohaib Khan will resume the innings on the second day from an individual score of 29.
For Central Punjab Hasan Ali and Waqas Maqsood bagged two wickets each while Bilawal Iqbal, Qasim Akram and Ahmed Safi have had a scalp each to their credit.
