KARACHI: The reigning champions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators have inked a sponsorship deal with Ignite wardrobe.
The formal agreement, for the three-year partnership, was signed at the Gladiators’ office in Karachi on Saturday.
Nadeem Omar, the owner of Quetta Gladiators, on the occasion hoped that his franchise would replicate the last year’s performance to retain the title.
“All teams are very well balanced, however our combination will yield favourable results again”, Nadeem Omar said.
Nadeem Omar also announced to induct an all-rounder from Quetta, Abdul Nasir in the franchise.
“Abdul Nasir is a budding all-rounder who came through our programme in the province. He exhibited extraordinary performance against formidable outfits of Omar Associates.
More players from Balochistan will be introduced in the future”, Nadeem Omar added.
On a question, the Quetta Gladiators’ owner said reservations from the Balochistan officials are uncalled for.
“Dynamics of franchised cricket are entirely different which needs to be understood. How many local players are in Manchester United?Gradually the pool of players from Balochistan will increase”, Nadeem Omar hoped.
Nadeem Omar was of the opinion that their PSL matches’ schedule was very tough because of extensive travel.
Meanwhile the representative of the Ignite wardrobe said that their name goes well with the dynamic side of Quetta Gladiators therefore they chose to join hands with the PSL champions.
