Mudassar Nazar not thrilled at frequent domestic changes

Karachi: The frequent changes in the Pakistan domestic cricket structure are not being widely welcomed and now one of the main voices within the board has also raised objection to the latest “innovation”.

Mudassar Nazar, the director academies, is of the opinion that the practice of frequent amendments, to domestic system, was not an encouraging one. “I am a firm believer in one thing that alterations in domestic structure after every two, three years is in fact unjust  to our own system”, Mudassar said

“Personally I am not in favour of frequent changes and experiments. Any new mechanism should be given ample time”, the director academics further said.

The PCB has announced to introduce drafting system in first-class cricket too after its implementation in the limited overs’ domestic competitions.

The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) has already raised strong objection as the association’s chief, Ijaz Farooqi walked out of the latest BoG meeting, to register his protest against the proposal.

For the first-class season, the PCB wants to constitute regional teams via drafting system, under which regional selection committees will only select eight of the fifteen players while the rest will be picked through drafting from the central pool of players.
